Advertise with the Whatcom Independent

Payment Policy:

Payment is due at time of order and/or until credit is established. Payment of first ad constitutes established credit.

Errors/Adjustments:

All paid advertising must be identifiable as advertising, either by appearance or insertion of the words "Paid Advertisement." No specific ad placement is promised or reserved without written, contractual agreement. Rate adjustments will be limited to the portion of the ad that is incorrect, in proportion to the amount the error affects the value of the ad. The adjustment will not be more than the cost of the advertisement. The publication will not be held responsible for any lost revenue attributed to an error in publication. Customer shall notify the Whatcom Independent of any copy errors prior to subsequent publication dates. Insertions after the first insertion are not subject to credit adjustments.

Contract Terms:

Only advertising with executed insertion orders will receive discounts. Any advertising above agreed quantities will be billed at the lower earned rate. In the event of rate changes, all contracts will be honored at the agreed rate, if lower. Existing customers will have the choice of the newer or older rate structure for a period of four weeks after such changes are made. The Whatcom Independent reserves the right to alter or reject and advertisement for any reason, with full refund for unpublished ads. Failure to perform due to uncontrollable circumstances such as natural catastrophe shall not result in costs or penalties to either the advertiser or publisher, with the exception the ads previously published shall be payable. The Publisher reserves the right to add "Paid Advertisement" in any advertising.

Agency Commission:

A commission from the gross amount is granted to recognized advertising agencies.

Payable first ad - net 30 days.
